The ancients were used to start from the myths to approach and understand the phenomenon of the earth and the sky – the same text, inserted within a different sequence, can stimulate different interpretations, it can be loaded with unexpected meanings – with Cosmicomics, Calvino, materializes invisible and unthinkable universes, thus circumscribing modern cosmology in a vortex of abstract imagination to understand the age of the universe. All the Menarchecomics is a project that exploit the roots of a revolutionary and genuine work, dense of suggestions like the Cosmicomics of Calvino, with the ambition of generating awareness and sensitivity through women’s stories on menstrual experience.
How does it work? From May 9th to June 5th 2016 (28 days, including Saturday, Sundays and holidays / 24 h) I was available personally in the city of Florence for recording, taking notes and, simply, listening to stories about menstruation. All of this happened in a completely anonymous manner, all the stories have been included in an editorial publication which also represents the documentation of the project.

Gli antichi partivano dai miti per avvicinare e comprendere i fenomeni della terra e del cielo – un medesimo testo, inserito entro una diversa sequenza, può sollecitare interpretazioni differenti, può caricarsi di significati inattesi – con le Cosmicomiche, Calvino, materializza universi invisibili e impensabili, circoscrivendo, così, la cosmologia moderna in un vortice di immaginazione astratta per comprendere più o meno l’età dell’universo. Tutte le Menarcacomiche è un progetto che sfrutta, per crescere, le radici di un lavoro rivoluzionario, genuino e denso di suggestioni come le Cosmicomiche di Calvino, con l’ambizione di generare consapevolezza e sensibilità attraverso i racconti delle donne sull’esperienza mestruale.
Come funziona? Dal 9 Maggio al 5 Giugno 2016 (28 giorni, inclusi sabato, domenica e festivi / h 24) sono stata reperibile personalmente nella città di Firenze per registrare, appuntare, ascoltare storie sull’esperienza mestruale. Tutto questo è avvenuto in forma totalmente anonima, tutte le storie sono state integrate in un prodotto editoriale che è documentazione del progetto stesso.
